District #5 Volunteer Fire Department is located on the west side of the Tennessee-Tombigbee waterway and is bordered on the north by Clay County, on the West by Oktibbeha County, and on the south by Lowndes County District #4 VFD.
District #5 protects approximately 1,000 persons, the Golden Triangle Airport and the Lowndes County Industrial Park.
The District #5 Fire Chief is Bill Boddie.
District #5 has approximately 10 active members. The department has three station in their fire protection district. The department has the Jaws of Life and medical first responders that respond to motor vehicle accidents and other life threatening emergencies in order to assist the ambulance service.
